Niermann Weeks Souvenir Anvil on eBay
Blog – Niermann Weeks souvenir anvil on eBay, 11-11-09
About 1990 Niermann Weeks went through a brief period of making souvenirs for magazine editors, and one of them just surfaced on www.eBay.com.
It’s a tiny anvil made about 1990 by Mike Weeks, a metal worker and our original partner. I learned of the auction from the mother of my honorary grandson, and my daughter-in-law placed the successful bid – $50.
The anvil weighs about a pound and measures 4″ long by 11/2″ high. Mike cast it with nicks and dings all over as well as our corporate name emblazoned along one side. He probably made about a dozen to use as paperweights. He gave them to editors, friends, and his children. I don’t know how this one got away from us, but it’s good to have a piece of our early history back in our archives.
